There may be more snow on the way, but it is actually time for lawn mower maintenance, time to get your lawnmower ready for the spring.
There are a few things you can do yourself if you didn’t do them at the end of last season:
- Be sure there is no grass stuck underneath the mower from last season.
- Change the oil.
There are also a few items you may be able to do, but if not, J&J Small Engine Clinic provides lawn mower service for all those small engine maintenance tasks you can’t do on your own, like:
- Change the air filter
- Sharpen the blade.
- Change the spark plugs.
These are just some of the basic items that should be addressed when you take your mower out of winter storage and ready for spring use.
Start your lawnmower before you actually need to use it. We find that the most common problem with a lawnmower after being stored is that it just won’t start. Unfortunately, this is usually a carburetor problem and repairing the carburetor is often more one can typically do on their own.
